How do we start organising our wedding in Italy?

What does the paperwork involve and will you help us?
We will guide you throughout the famous Italian red tape and will deal with the Consulates and town halls. Don’t worry it is really a very simple process.
Can we have a religious blessing outside in a villa or a garden?
Yes, we can arrange a religious wedding in villas’ or castles’ private
chapels.
Can we have a civil wedding outside in a villa or a garden?
No, the civil wedding must take place in a Town hall. (In some very rare exceptions the mayor may agree to perform the ceremony elsewhere, but please do not expect this.)
If we get married in Italy is our marriage recognised in the rest of the world?
A town hall wedding in Italy is recognised in the rest of the world.
Who will perform the civil ceremony?
The mayor or one of his/her officials will perform the ceremony.
When is the best time of the year to get married in Italy?
May – September are generally nice. July and August can be hot with temperatures of 30+C. April and October are generally slightly cooler and even winter periods can be quite mild. It does depend on the region and of course there is a risk of bad weather at any time of the year.
Will the ceremony be in English or Italian?
A civil ceremony will be in Italian with an English translator. A religious ceremony can be in Italian and / or English.
When are the sunflowers flowering?
The sunflowers are generally flowering from July to late August.
When do you suggest we start to plan our wedding in Italy?
We suggest you start planning your wedding in Italy 9 -12 months in advance. The first stage is to find a venue and secure the date as many places get booked well in advance as they are very popular with foreigners and Italians. We can arrange a wedding in a little as 3 months but in these cases there will be a limited selection of places to choose from especially if you are a group of people.
Can you help us with organising flowers, music, photographer, food, cake, transportation, videographer, fireworks, hair and make-up and and other requirements?
Yes we can help you with organizing every aspect of your wedding.
Can we speak to the photographers and view examples of their work?
Of course. My Italian Marriage will get you in touch directly with them.
We are only a small group will you help us to organise our wedding?
We can help anyone one to get married in Italy no matter what the size of the group, we can even help 2 people only by providing witnesses for them.
I have been divorced can I still have a Catholic religious wedding?
No, if you have only been divorced you may not remarry in a Catholic church, you must first have your previous wedding annulled by the Catholic Church in your country.
I have been divorced can I have a civil wedding?
Yes but for the bride 300 days must have passed since the date of the Decree Absolute. This does not apply to the groom.
How many days prior to the wedding should we arrive?
We suggest you arrive no later than two days before the wedding day. Some cases can vary but you will always be advised of this in advance.
Are wines included in the price of the reception?
Wines are included in the price of the reception but the quantities served can vary. We will tell you exactly the amounts given for each venue. You may of course ask for more or less.
We have our ideas on what we want can you help us achieve these?
We can liaise between yourselves and our suppliers in order to bring your ideas to life, we have tried and tested all suppliers and they are chosen for the high professionalism and level of service.
Do you only organise weddings or can you help with other events such as renewal of vows, anniversaries and parties?
We can also organize renewal of vows, parties, anniversaries etc, send us an email with you requirements and someone will reply to you swiftly.
